Quetzaltenango, also known by its Mayan name ´Xela’, is  the second largest city in Guatemala, 200 km west of Guatemala-city.

It is located 2200 meters above sea level and has a population of approximately 150,000.

Quetzaltenango is the commercial center of Southwestern Guatemala and has a unique landscape, surrounded by mountains, volcano’s, natural hot spring and indigenous villages and markets.

Its geography location is ideal for day trips and excursions.

In Quetzaltenango you will find (internet) bars, night-clubs and cafés, cinemas and theatres.
