A lot of students who study at Minerva are for the first time in Guatemala. They don't know what kind of things they have to bring. Under here you will find a handy list:
  • Passport
  • Dollars or travellers checks; Canadian money or travellers
    checks are not excepted!
  • Credit Cards, Bank cards. In almost each village you can
pay with Visa, MasterCard only in larger centres. It is quite
difficult to get money with your Cirrus Bank Card.
  • Photocopies of important documents.
  • Money Belt.
  • Warm clothing. Because Xela is located 2200 meters above
sea level, in the morning and in the evening it is quite cold.
  • A warm sweater is necessary!
  • Swim wear
  • Sun Protection
  • Rain Protection, especially during the rainy seasons
    (May-September)
  • Solid walking shoes and shower footwear
  • Medicines for first aid items + prescriptions

In Guatemala the electric voltage is 110. This is the same plug as the United States.  You may need a world-plug if your plugs are different.

We would like to have our own library, so that you can change your English- and German books for other books.  Maybe you can bring some books which we can use in the  library.
